Being in nature boosts wellbeing, reduces the likelihood of mental illness, and encourages us to conserve wildlife
The health of our planet is deteriorating at an alarming rate as climate change and overexploitation of nature cause wildfires, droughts, and loss of biodiversity, among other disastrous consequences. At the same time, health issues in people such as depression and obesity have been accelerating. These health and environmental problems are both linked to increased mental distancing from nature. It's becoming increasingly more important to be conscious of our connections to nature and make an effort to prioritise them among the rapid urbanisation of our planet.
